GENERAL INFORMATION

LODGE

The Lodge at Vail Mountain Lodge & Spa with its 20 rooms offers guests Mountain Views, Valley Views, Family suites in addition to 2 and 3 bedroom condominiums.

The Vail Mountain Lodge & Spa completed a $20 million renovation in early 2006.

All of the rooms have fireplaces.

The Vail Mountain Lodge & Spa is located two blocks from Vail Mountain.

The Vail Mountain Lodge & Spa offers wedding, spa, athletic, cultural and couples packages.

Guests at the Lodge can take advantage of the Spa, Vail Athletic Club and Terra Bistro, all located in the Vail Mountain Lodge & Spa.

SPA

The Spa at Vail Mountain Lodge & Spa offers 13 private treatment rooms.

Lisa Dekoster, Spa Director, designed each of the signature spa treatments to include organic and biodynamically grown plant-based products whenever possible.

The Spa staff prides itself on the therapeutic quality of their massage.

The Spa offers eight types of facials, eight types of massage, 9 signature treatments, manicure and pedicures at the salon and a wide variety of custom packages.

Lisa Dekoster has been with the Vail Mountain Lodge & Spa for 26 years, 15 years as spa director.

All treatments are designed with a holistic perspective.

VAIL ATHLETIC CLUB (VAC)

The Vail Athletic Club has approximately 500 members, 300 of which are year round residents.

The Vail Athletic Club purchased $150,000 in new equipment in early 2006 including 17 pieces of cardio equipment with personal television screens and 26 pieces of strength training equipment.

Precor is the predominant line of equipment used at the VAC.

The VAC is 18,000 square feet.

The VAC has two full time personal trainers on staff.

The VAC has the only indoor climbing wall in the Vail Valley.

Currently, the VAC offers 32 classes a week in a wide variety including yoga, Pilates, spin and more. (Classes vary in number and scope by season)

The spin program at the VAC features 14 LeMond spin bikes equipped with Pilot heart rate monitors.

 

TERRA BISTRO (restaurant)

Terra Bistro’s menu is created with seasonal ingredients from the Southwest, Mediterranean and Asian cultures.

Chef Kevin Nelson uses free-range meat and poultry from local farmers whenever possible.

Terra Bistro has one of the most extensive wine lists in the Vail Valley with approximately 400 wines available, including 11 limited selections.

Terra Bistro is located within a five minute walk to the Gerald Ford Amphitheater making it an excellent choice for before and after concert cuisine and libations.

Terra Bistro boasts an upscale bistro dining experience usually found only in metropolitan areas.

Terra Bistro offers the Vail Valley’s only organic, full service approach to breakfast, offered complimentary for lodge guests.

Terra Bistro has been a quintessential Vail restaurant for 16 years.

Spa at Vail Mountain Lodge

Mt. Divas offers members and guests a way to tone their bodies, achieve goals and open their minds.
In its 3rd season, the “Divas” program offers a variety of outdoor fitness options for Vail Valley locals and guests to Vail alike. Programs range from a bi-weekly running group to goal-oriented regimes that are custom tailored in length. Founder and director, Ellen Miller, is the first American woman to summit Mt. Everest from both the North and South sides. Ellen brings a Himalayan inspired, non-competitive way of training to the Mt. Divas.

Vail Athletic Club

Vail Athletic Club designs programming and classes to improve members’ and guests’ functional fitness in outdoor activities.
“Get in here to get better out there” is the motto of Vail Athletic Club’s (VAC) club manager, Shannon Smith. The VAC employs instructors and trainers who are also avid outdoor sports enthusiasts. Spin classes are taught by cyclists, climbing wall instructors are climbers and the goal of the Vail Athletic Club is functional strength training.

Terra Bistro

Vail restaurant, Terra Bistro, introduces the 1,000 year breakfast.
New for 2006, Terra Bistro will offer the 1,000 year breakfast. No, that does not imply slow service. Instead, it is a sit down breakfast that appeases the health conscious and the traditional breakfast eater with nothing but ingredients that could have been found on the planet 1,000 years ago. Breakfast is served with everything you want to eat and with none of the artificial ingredients used in modern cooking.  By avoiding artificial ingredients including nitrates, hi fructose corn syrup, artificial colorings and artificial flavoring, people can take the first step towards living well.
