Yoga Classes

The Vail Athletic Club is thrilled to welcome the Mountain Lotus Yoga Studio under the direction of Kelly Major Heath. Mountain Lotus at the Vail Athletic Club boasts a diverse yoga schedule, inspiring and educational workshops with some of the nation's top instructors, and a beautiful space inspired with mountain views, and an incredibly developed class schedule.

Our community of yogis comes from many disciplines,
representing focuses of Vinyasa Power, Prana Vinyasa Flow, and Anusara Inspired. We offer a Level I and Level III class for those clients who are interested in learning the basics or taking their practice to the next level respectively. All other classes are open for all levels to participate. Instructors will offer modifications to encourage all levels to feel comfortable practicing together.

Private Yoga Instruction

Receive individual attention with a personal yoga coach.  A private yoga session can help if you’re new to the practice, with an introduction of poses and flow, so as to make you more fluent when joining a group class.  Also, it’s a great idea to regularly meet with an individual yoga coach for a “tune up,” or assessment of personal alignment and specific pose structure.

Private Training - 55 minute sessions

1 session $80 $90
5 sessions            $375 $425
10 sessions            $700 $800

Open Aunsara Inspired Yoga™

Anusara yoga™ is an exceptional system that integrates the celebration of the heart, universal principles of alignment and balanced energetic action in the performance of asana. All classes are safe, fun, and challenging.  Founded by Jon Friend.  Classes are suitable for participants that have an ongoing yoga practice.

Gentle Honey Flow Yoga

Yoga Woman
A delicious and restorative yoga practice. True relaxation is often more elusive than we expect. Even sleep doesn’t provide it. Lotus style restorative asana is a bit brisker than others, but restorative poses class are the perfect antidote to stress and fatigue. Sometimes approached through smooth Vinyasa and other times more deeply supported with props like blocks and blankets.  This class has a particular ability to create a muscular experience in your body while nurturing and soothing. It will renew your energy and bring conscious, deep relaxation.

Honey Flow Yoga

The most delicious )and stealthily challenging) of Mountain Lotus classes.  A one-hour serving of sticky, sweaty Lotus Flow, lathered with 20 minutes of yin yoga (deep, intense stretching), and a 15 minute restorative asana topping.  YUM!  As one student put it, “you kick our ass for an hour and then kiss it for another 30 minutes.”  This is an intermediate level class.

Lotus Basics Yoga

Get in the Lotus Flow!  Lotus style yoga is a deep, challenging practice that will make you stronger and more flexible on the outside and softer (and more flexible) on the inside, and you are never too tight, too tall, or too weak to begin here.  This is not so much a yoga basics class as it is a basic Lotus style class.  Open to beginners as well as those wanting a slower paced vinyasa practice, and those who wish to reconnect with the fundamentals of alignment and flow style yoga.

Lotus Flow Yoga

A vinyasa (or flow) style yoga with an emphasis on creativity and alignment.  Classes are inventive and thoughtful sequences of sun salutations, standing and seated postures, back bending, and inversions guided by a steady breath to tone and calm the mind.  Most teachers also use bandha work to open and strengthen the inner body.  Classes differ in tone and vendor depending on the teacher.  For students with a regular yoga practice.

Lotus Hour Yoga

We used to think that an hour was way too short for a yoga class, and then we discovered Lotus Hour:  a 65 minute straight up shot of all the good stuff.  We start at the front of our mats in this strong, all-levels class and flow for 60 minutes, followed by 5 minutes of blissful rest.

Mommy Flow Yoga

Pre- and Post-Natal Yoga.  Whether you’d like to move through your pregnancy with joy and ease or are working to regain your strength after childbirth, integrate this class into you Monday morning.  Yoga has proven beneficial in preparing the body for labor, birth and recovery.  Poses are specifically chosen to promote strength, flexibility, and mental strength and calmness.  After childbirth, feel free to bring your new infant to class with you and discover ways to integrate yoga into their busy days
